Liverpool are not considering a move for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas this summer.

The Reds have been linked with a £30million swoop for the Spaniard, but the ECHO understands that Fabregas isn’t on Jurgen Klopp’s list of targets.

Anfield officials have rubbished suggestions that they are locked in a battle with rivals Manchester United to secure the 29-year-old services.

Klopp is keen to strengthen his centre midfield options this summer but Red Bull Leipzig’s Naby Keita remains his preferred option in that department.

The Guinea international, who has also attracted interest from Bayern Munich, has enjoyed a fine season in the Bundesliga.

Fabregas’ future is the subject of speculation because he has found his opportunities limited under Antonio Conte. He has started just 10 Premier League matches for Chelsea this season.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona player has two years remaining on his £170,000 per week deal.
