Liverpool are set to miss out on the signing of teenage sensation Ryan Sessegnon, according to The Times.

The Reds are among a number of teams chasing the 16-year-old Fulham sensation and had hoped to sign him this summer.

But it now looks likely that Sessegnon will instead stay on and sign a new four-year deal at Craven Cottage.

Should he decide to leave, however, Liverpool would be at the front of the queue.

Liverpool are hot on the trail of £35million-rated Roma centre-back Kostas Manolas.

Boss Jurgen Klopp dispatched one of his top scouts to check on the commanding Greek defender in the Europa League against Lyon in the Italian capital on Thursday - and he was impressed.

Manolas starred in a 2-1 win for Roma, although it was the French visitors who went through to the quarter-finals 5-4 on aggregate.

The 25-year-old has attracted plenty of Premier League attention, with Arsenal reportedly having a £35m bid turned down last summer.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is trying to land Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele this summer.

The 19-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, but former Dortmund coach Klopp is refusing to give up hope of luring the striker to his Reds.

He wants to bring in at least two young summer signings whose development he can continue, and will try to beat Barca and Dembele’s other suitors to the punch.

The France international joined Dortmund in the summer from Rennes in his homeland.

Championship strugglers Nottingham Forest 17-year-old forward Ben Brereton is also on Klopp’s radar.
