Loris Karius has called on Liverpool to rediscover their ‘flow’ against AFC Bournemouth after enduring the frustration of back-to-back home draws.

The Reds were held to a goalless stalemate by West Bromwich Albion at Anfield on Wednesday night, three days on from their 1-1 draw with Everton.

In a similar story to Sunday’s Merseyside derby, Jürgen Klopp’s team were in command for large parts of the game against the Baggies but were unable to convert their control into three points.

Roberto Firmino went closest to breaking West Brom’s resistance in the first half, before substitute Dominic Solanke first saw a late Kop-end goal disallowed for handball and then had a goal-bound effort cleared with Ben Foster beaten.

But goalkeeper Karius, who made his second Premier League start of the season on Wednesday due to a minor knock sustained by Simon Mignolet against Everton, wants Liverpool to respond strongly to the consecutive setbacks on the south coast this weekend.

“The last two games have been very frustrating but we have to keep on going,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.

“There’s so many games coming up and there’s going to be other teams struggling in other periods so we just have to focus on ourselves and make sure we’re back on our best in Bournemouth and take the points there.

“There’s still many more points to get, so we just have to focus on the next one but it was very frustrating today.”

Karius made two smart saves in quick succession from Grzegorz Krychowiak and Claudio Yacob early in the second half to ensure he kept a clean sheet upon his return to Premier League duty.

“I just tried to help out with the set-pieces as much as I could, because obviously that’s what they live for,” the stopper said.

“We did well, defended that all, so that’s maybe the positive we can take from it, that we stayed focused and kept the clean sheet.”

Liverpool travel to Arsenal five days after their trip to the Vitality Stadium - but Karius is looking no further ahead than the task at hand against the Cherries.

“I mean, no game’s easy in the Premier League I think, so it’s Bournemouth now. It was a crazy game there last year,” he stated.

“Of course we want to take the three points there and then Arsenal’s going to be a big game, but right now we’re just focused on Bournemouth and then we go from there. But yeah, it’s very important to get three points there to get back in the flow.”
