Sixteen years ago today, Liverpool beat Barcelona 1-0 at Anfield in the second leg of the UEFA Cup last four to book a place in the Dortmund final – but how well do you remember it?

After a goalless first meeting at the Camp Nou, it was Gary McAllister’s penalty on the stroke of half-time that gave the Reds an advantage they did not relinquish.

That goal set up a final showdown against Alaves at the Westfalenstadion the following month, in which Gerard Houllier’s side completed their unprecedented treble by successfully adding the UEFA Cup to the League and FA Cups they’d already acquired.
