LFC's Red Neighbours team scooped two awards this week in recognition of their service to the Liverpool community.

The High Sheriff of Merseyside, Mr Stephen Burrows Esq DL, acknowledged Red Neighbours' 'great and valuable services to the community' with a special accolade after the team were nominated by Alsop High School.

Announced during the annual ceremony at Police HQ on Brunswick Dock, the award is given on behalf of the residents of Merseyside to those who have made a significant contribution to the local area.

The team were also named winners at the LFC Annual Recognition Awards - an internal celebration of club staff and their achievements across the previous 12 months.

Selected by the Staff Engagement Group, the Red Neighbours team were chosen not only for the work they do in and around the local Anfield community, but for the way in which they do so.

Peter Moore, CEO of LFC, said: “The Red Neighbours team has only been together for just over a year, but their hard work in that time has created a wealth of activities and made an enormous difference to our neighbours.

“They have provided many opportunities for residents in Anfield – helping them to tackle food poverty, supporting the elderly community, keeping the community physically active and creating memorable experiences for young people – all with a big smile on their faces.”
