On the back of the city of Liverpool announcing that it will host next year's Netball World Cup, LFC's community programme, Red Neighbours launched its new Walking Netball sessions for 2018.

The programme goes hand-in-hand with Red Neighbours' Walking Football programme, which aims to create a fun and social setting in which over 50s can enjoy partaking in physical activity.

Walking Netball has evolved from a growing demand for walking sports. It is a slower version of the game and has been designed so that anyone can play it regardless of age or fitness level.

The Walking Netball sessions run every Friday at Anfield Sports and Community Centre betwee 11.30am-12.30pm, and are delivered by coaches from England Netball.

The Red Neighbours programme supports local residents and schools in the Anfield community, focusing on four key areas: food poverty and education; support for the elderly community; encouraging a physically active community; and creating memorable experiences for young people.
